Overarching artist statementNothing in particular really inspired me throughout the semester, I just went based off of what I was thinking or feeling. I made my artwork the way I did because I wanted it to be appealing to others, and myself of course. I used several different tools to create my artworks. I used tempera paint, watercolor brushes, aqua flo brushes, aqua pencils, and spray paint. I didn't quite use certain techniques, I just filled in what needed to be filled in. I feel as if most of my artworks really don't really have many meanings to me, compared to the artwork I did my freshman year. - I feel as if my most successful project this semester was my choice 2 project. It's supposed to represent a brick wall with graffiti overlapping it. I feel that this particular project was the most successful to me due to the fact that I worked on this longer than any other project. Not only that but considering that I was behind a lot, and was rushing I feel as if I did a great job on it. It's very detailed and colorful as well, so yes, for the most part my choice 2 project was the most successful. - I felt as if I overcame obstacles when it came to my functional design project. The obstacles of this project was not being able to get my letters on the boxes correctly , or alone. It was hard trying to hold the stencils and putting the paint on them at the same time. But I worked through those obstacles by asking for help, I asked Mrs. Schumann if she could hold the stencils up against the box while I applied the paint. - A project that I would do over would be "Believe in greater things". The project was supposed to be somewhat of a graffiti project. The word "Believe" was in graffiti font , and the wings were supposed to be under it. What I didn't like about the artwork was the final product overall , it didn't turn out how I had expected it to. So therefore I personally would go back and do the whole entire thing over.

Reflection:
My final artwork was the one on the right. Collaboration played a role in my final , due to the fact that I didn't know what else I wanted to add. Malchi and Mikey helped , they were the one's who collaborated on my final piece. Malachi added the word REEZY in the back and Mikey add the outlining of the word , and the outlining of the hair , and part of the sleeve. The benefits of collaborating was that if you didn't like what someone had did to your piece you could always change it around to how you liked it and etc. Challenges I ran into relating to collaboration was actually finding two other individuals to add onto my piece. Since I was a tad bit behind and everyone else was working on something different it was kind of hard , since I didn't want to interrupt them from working on their pieces. Artist Statement:
My artwork is supposed to represent a brick wall with graffiti over top of it. Originally i was going to do a series of images collage together but i said " hey , why not just do a WOW piece?". My artwork is made from a medium sized piece of white paper, Aqua flo brushes , Watercolor brushes , and Aqua brushes. I didn't really use any specific techniques, I just colored them in. My artwork shows mostly happy emotions as you can see above by the different types of images and emojis that I drew. As an artist I don't really have any goals, so it's hard to say whether or not my piece helped me reach my goal. I just learned how to use different tools when creating this artwork. The final piece is actually not what I had imagined, it had came out better than I had expected it to. I can say this piece will influence me to use the tools that I used in future artworks. |
